
Rev. Dr. Jo Hudson Senior Pastor & Rector As Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Hudson is the spiritual leader of the Cathedral of Hope and, in partnership with the Vision Team, serves as the keeper of the Vision of the Cathedral. Rev. Hudson focuses internally on discipleship with the purpose of empowering the people of the local church to grow in their faith as individuals and as a community. Before coming to Cathedral of Hope, Rev. Hudson spent 7 years as pastor of Friends Congregational Church-UCC in College Station, Texas. A native Texan, Rev. Hudson received her PhD in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University in 1993 and graduated with honors from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in 1994. She was ordained into the United Church of Christ in 1997. Currently, Rev. Hudson holds clergy standing in the North Texas Association of the South Central Conference of the United Church of Christ, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Justice & Witness Ministries of the UCC. In 2001 Rev. Hudson received a Pastoral Renewal Grant from the Lilly Endowment Inc., which promotes leadership education and financial self-sufficiency in the nonprofit, charitable sector. Rev. Rev. Michael S. Piazza National Pastor & Dean Named by The Advocate magazine as one of the most influential people in the gay and lesbian movement, Michael S. Piazza is a spiritual visionary, author and social justice advocate who currently serves as Dean of the Cathedral of Hope. A native of Georgia, Rev. Piazza has served in the ministry for over three decades, pastoring churches in Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma and Florida. He holds Bachelor Degrees in history and psychology from Valdosta State College in Georgia and a Master of Divinity from the Chandler School of Theology, Emory University in Atlanta. Since he came to Dallas in November of 1987 to pastor the Cathedral of Hope, the church has grown from a few hundred to nearly 4,000 members. He has five published books: Holy Homosexuals, Rainbow Family Values, Mourning to Morning, Growth Or Death and the recently published Queeries: Questions Lesbians and Gays have for God. Rev. Coy D. James Canon of Stewardship and Special Projects Coy is responsible for development and implementation of the Cathedral of Hope Stewardship program as well as other strategic projects. In addition to numerous other volunteer positions, Coy served on the Cathedral of Hope Board of Directors for 16 years, all but three as Vice-Moderator. He received degrees in Mass Communication and Medical Instructional Design from Abilene Christian University and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas, now UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. His experience includes over 20 years as a manager of various communications related organizations within Abbott Laboratories, Diagnostics Division. Click HERE to reach Coy.
