Bullying has reached epidemic proportions in our country, resulting in ruined lives or even suicides in many cases. In our efforts to keep our Children and Youth parents informed about how to handle or prevent this tragedy, on January 14, we have asked Jetonda Green, LMSW |Community Health Outreach Specialist, System SANE Department | Safety & Well-Being Prevention Program to lend her expertise to us on the subject. Her mission is to provide parents and their children awareness and prevention education on internet safety; so that they can cultivate and promote healthy norms to prevent sexual abuse as well as family and relationship violence in their communities. Parents will be instructed on how to raise Awareness of risks with identity theft and scammers and of risks when youth are on social media, including cyber-bullying. Parents will be able to identify signs of traffickers who try to recruit on-line and become aware of digital dating abuse for older youth. The workshop will last 60 minutes. All parents of both children and youth are welcome to this important, life-saving event.
