Getting to Know Us

We know coming to a new place can be intimidating, so we invite you to experience Cathedral of Hope at your own pace.  When you visit, drop by the CONNECT Center near the entrance of the building and to receive a welcome gift. We will be happy to answer any questions about our church.

We are a child-friendly, and child-welcoming church. We have childcare (infant – 5 years) at all services. Our interactive and fun Children’s Church and Youth Group meet every Sunday during out 10am service.

Any of the greeters or ushers can direct you to the Family Life Center.

About our services

While our services may differ in style, ALL of our services feature a progressive message of hope and love. You are invited to worship in the style that feeds your spirit!

  • Our 8:30am and 10:00am services are more traditional.  They are filled with wonderful music and follow a more traditional format.  These popular services feature more pageantry and structure than other services yet carry a progressive message.

  • Our 11:00am online only service is a blend of traditional and contemporary. This service is designed and prepared for our large worldwide audience. This service is broadcast every week on Facebook, YouTube and our website.

  • Our 11:45am service is more contemporary.  Far less formal format filled with energetic music and the same progressive message.

  • A la 1:30pm, nuestra congregación de habla española, Catedral de la Esperanza.

You can enter our parking lots from Inwood Road or through our main entrance on Cedar Springs Road. On Sundays, parking is also available in the Resource Center lot, or in the dirt lot behind the Interfaith Peace Chapel. 

The entrance to our Sanctuary is through the John Thomas Bell Wall. 

What to Expect

  • What should I wear?

    Wear whatever makes you comfortable. There is no dress code. You’ll see some people in dresses and suits and others in jeans and shorts.

  • Can I bring my children?

    Our Children & Families Ministry (birth – 5th grade) offers some of the most exciting and imaginative children’s programming around. Your children will insist on a return visit.

  • I'm not a member of any church, will I be welcome?

    Yes!  We welcome people of all faiths and backgrounds.  We believe that Jesus came to include people not exclude.  

  • Where is Cathedral of Hope?

    Cathedral of Hope is located about a mile Northeast of Interstate 35 and Inwood Road at 5910 Cedar Springs Road in Dallas, Texas, near Love Field Airport.  Look for the entrance monument on Cedar Springs Rd. near the Resource Center of Dallas.

  • Are you part of a denomination?

    Yes, Cathedral of Hope is part of the United Church of Christ. The UCC is a mainline progressive Protestant denomination that is known for its commitments to racial, gender, economic, and environmental justice. Cathedral of Hope started out as a member of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC).

  • There are hundreds of churches in Dallas (and many more online) - Why should I visit Cathedral of Hope?

    Here at Cathedral of Hope, we believe that ALL people are welcome – no matter your gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender identity. In a world where Christianity has been used to proclaim hate, hurt, fear and exclusion, Cathedral of Hope strives to be a church of inclusion, hope and love. When we say y’all means all, we really mean it.

What We Believe

The Mission of the Cathedral of Hope is to reclaim Christianity as a faith of extravagant grace, radical inclusion and relentless compassion.
Our beliefs are based upon our Core Values. The Core Values of Cathedral of Hope are Compassion, Inclusion, Liberation, Hope and Faith in Jesus.

Compassion

We are a people of Compassion. We live out the tangible love of a savior who fed the hungry, healed the hurting, and told us bluntly that what we did to the least we did to him.

Inclusion

We are a people of Inclusion. We believe Jesus came to include, not to exclude. Jesus made it clear that all are welcome around God’s table.

Liberation

We are a people of Liberation. We challenge all oppression, especially the oppression of queer people. By embodying grace, we live out our liberation until all are set free.

Hope

We are a people of Hope. We are people filled with joy and unrelenting optimism because we believe God is good. With God, all things are possible. God can use us to transform the world.

Jesus

We are a people of Jesus. We believe Jesus was the incarnation of God’s grace. Jesus was the ultimate liberal, who resisted the status quo of oppression and showed us the way to the abundant life God intends for all people.
